A year into planning their big day, Dawson's Creek's Kerr Smith, who plays gay student Jack McPhee, and fiancee Harmoni Everett received bad news: The Mexico venue they'd chosen was abruptly closing for renovations. With just three months to fashion a new plan, the couple had to frantically hustle. But it was mission accomplished by the time the pair exchanged vows on the grounds of La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs on June 7. Smith, 31, fought tears as Everett, 28, an actress, walked down the aisle in a strapless Badgley Mischka white taffeta gown trailed by a long veil. "It seemed like they could only see each other," says a guest. And the 15-minute nonreligious ceremony, performed before 60 guests (including Smith's Creek costars), went without a hitch. "She's my best friend," says Smith. "If you're lucky enough to find somebody you feel that close to, you've got to put a ring on her finger."
